Launching my online restaurant: the starter’s guide

The key steps to putting your menu online, taking orders and launching your restaurant on Winslor.

Welcome. Once you’ve signed up, everything starts from your Restaurant dashboard. There you’ll find a ‘Prepare for opening’ checklist: follow it – it lists the key steps and ticks itself off as you go along.

Steps to open

There are six steps to taking your first order. You can complete them in whatever order suits you; the checklist will keep track of them for you.

1. Create your menu — go to Restaurant → Menu to put together your dishes, drinks and set menus. See ‘Create my menu’.
2. Create your tables and print their QR codes — in Restaurant → Tables & QR. See Tables and QR.
3. Enable your service options (dine-in, takeaway) — in Restaurant Settings.
4. Enter your opening hours — also in Restaurant Settings.
5. Connect Stripe to accept online payments — in Settings → Payments. See Stripe.
6. Complete your legal details — on the ‘Identity’ page.

Your menu is online

As soon as your menu is published, it will be available at <your-name>.winslor.com. This is the link your customers will see.

How your customers order

• In-restaurant — the customer scans the QR code on their table, views your menu and places their order directly from their seat.
• Takeaway — the customer places their order via your online menu page.

Taking and serving orders

Once the app is open, your orders come through in real time. You can track them on your dedicated screens in the kitchen and front of house.

• Discover the kitchen and front-of-house screens to equip your team.
• Learn how to take orders on a day-to-day basis.

Tip: don’t try to do everything at once. Follow the ‘Preparing for your opening’ checklist on your Restaurant dashboard, step by step — it will always tell you what to do next.
